Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race

Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race For Nintendo Wii - Youll Have Barrels Of Fun.

by Steven Fields

How many of you remember Donkey Kong for the Gamecube? I know I do. It was a truly unique game in that it required you to use some bongo controllers in order to drum along to the right beat and get those characters moving. Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race is similar to Donkey Kong. In fact, it was originally designed for the Gamecube and was meant to be played with the Kongo Drums you could buy along with Donkey Kong. But its now been taken to a whole new level with the Nintendo Wii version.

What makes it stand out is that it would normally use a special controller, in this case, the Kong controllers for Gamecube. But because the Nintendo Wii has the intuitive motion controllers, you can forget about having to buy another controller and use your Wii remote and Nunchuck controller like a pair of drum sticks to play the game.

In this new incarnation on the Bongo drum theme, Donkey Kong and his pals have gotten their mitts on some high-powered Barrel Jets - incredible engines that boost when struck by a pilot. You control the game by using your wiimote and nunchuck controllers, making this game especially easy to play. In fact, its a GREAT party game in and of itself (much like Rayman Raving Rabbids). Much more party, than game really. But isnt that exactly what we want when weve got some of our friends over, and we all want to take part in playing a game or two?

There are a total of 5 worlds, each of them boasting really good looking 3-D areal maps filled with numeours powerful items and endless obstacles. Players can challenge the Kremlins or play with up to 3 friends, for a total of 4 players. And with four people beating the bongos (imaginary in this case, as your wiimore and nunchuck take its place) they can battle for the skies.

Note to readers. In order to get this game several months before it is released in North America (and Europe), youll need to invest in a Nintendo Wii Mod Chip like the WiiKey or the WiiC Mod Chip for the Nintendo Wii. This will allow you to play any Japanese game on your Nintendo Wii system.
