Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Review
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Review
Anyone who used to play the old Sonic games would instantly realise this is a must buy on the Virtual Console. Sonic 3 added so many new features to the series. It was the most enjoyable game in the series without a doubt. It marked the first appearence of Knuckles and was more story based then any other Sonic game before. Sonic 3 was just the best.
Sonic 3 had stunning graphics and smooth gameplay throughout the play. In the Virtual Console version, playing with the Wiimote is a breeze, and you remember how easy the game is to play. From swinging vines to entering tubes and launching from cannons Sonic 3 had all the ingredients to be as enjoyable as it could be. Tails is still enjoyable to play as, as you can explore the level with his flying and swimming abilities in this one.
In it's own way. Sonic 3 was unique. It had some of the best levels ever such as Ice Cap Zone where you start off on a snowboard skiing down a mountain. Hydrocity Zone, an underwater city with fans and tubes to go through, and Carnival Night Zone, which is very similar to Casino Night from Sonic 2, but with balloons and pipes to run around on. Sonic 3 had great bosses and very enjoyable music as well, plus it was the first game in the series to allow you to save. No more worries starting again!
To sum it all up. Sonic 3 is the best game in the series and a must buy purchase for the Virtual Console. When Sonic & Knuckles comes out, hopefully you'll be able to pair the two up and enjoy the whole thing, but for now, Sonic 3 is a prime example of a worthy Virtual Console game and is an unmissable experience for every gamer out there.
